At Bacterfield we produce Super Premium dog food with a unique formula for unique pets. But it's not just about selling products; it's also about being a brand that people can trust and be inspired by – at the same time as making healthy and beneficial dog and cat food.
Leading the way for the planet
That is why we have taken some measures so that we are at the forefront when it comes to taking care of our planet - we want to be at the forefront when it comes to efforts to reduce the CO2 pawprint on the planet. We always consider our choices carefully with sustainability in mind, and below you can read about some of our measures.
Reusable bags
At Bacterfield, our bags are reusable - purely because we want to contribute to the positive development that we see in the field of reusability. The bags are made of PE Mono plastic, which means that the plastic type 'PE' is the only type of plastic in the bag. That is why our bags are marked with the recyclability logo '4 LDPE', and the material can thus be converted into new products afterwards.
Plastic in the Oceans? No thank you!
In this way, we are actively contributing to the reduction of resource wastage – because plastic should not be floating everywhere. It is important to us to prevent animals on land and in water from eating plastic, and at the same time the fish must not get stuck or die from it. All of this has enormous consequences for our economy, local communities, and the planet.
Locally sourced ingredients and production in Europe
Stopping CO2 emissions can be done in many ways, but for us the most important thing is to reduce the CO2 pawprint. Therefore, we only use ingredients of the highest quality, which we primarily source from local suppliers.
Our suppliers are sustainable
Every step in our value chain revolves around producing with the environment in mind. Firstly, the factory that produces ProBiotic LIVE uses wind and solar energy as an energy source in the company. The manufacturer saves 1,750 tons of CO2 each year, i.a. because they recycle their waste and prioritize renewable energy sources.
Supplier with a focus on sustainable packaging
Secondly, the supplier of our bags is fully focused on sustainable packaging, where both plant-based materials, biodegradable packaging and reusable bags are on the agenda. All their factories are equipped with LED lights, where solar cells are the energy source. In addition, the supplier has adopted the 'Environmental Management System ISO 14001', which helps to reduce the impact on the environment.
Pet Sustainability Coalition (PSC)
Both factories we use to produce bags and petfood are part of the Pet Sustainability Coalition (PSC), which focuses on producing dog and cat food in a sustainable way, taking into account the communities of which they are a part.

Der Grüner Punkt
Der Grüner Punkt is on our bags to indicate that we pay for the collection of the bags when they are thrown away. In Germany, it is managed by Duales System Deutschland GmbH, and they are thus also responsible for sorting and recycling the plastic.

The UN's 17 Global Goals
Sustainable development is a big part of our existence, which is why we put the UN's 17 Global Goals on the agenda every day. From idea and development to production and disposal of the bag, reducing the pawprint is at the center.
